We are looking for a Bioprocess Associate to join our team in Research Triangle Park, NC!
Core Responsibilities
- Maintain mammalian cell culture in 2D and 3D formats to expand cells, deliver product and create process data.
- Conduct media and product analysis assays to determine composition and purity.
- Ensure timely entry of process and product analysis data into the electronic laboratory notebook.
- Attend and contribute to the weekly bioreactor planning meeting to ensure timely delivery of bioreactor runs.
- Participate in lab and equipment maintenance tasks. For example: preparing media, making supplement aliquots and maintaining a clean and safe lab.
- Work with Process Engineering to suggest and implement improvements to the cell culture process.
- Contribute to special project work as assigned.
About you:
You are a technical ninja
- You feel comfortable preparing cell culture media and aseptically maintaining mammalian cells on a daily basis in a laboratory setting You are comfortable performing wet lab biochemical assays and interpreting data for actionable decision-making that impacts the greater company
- You champion organization of data and insights from our process. You have experience maintaining an electronic laboratory notebook and batch records in a timely and compliant manner.
- You have hands-on experience with at least one or more of the following: mammalian cell culture, biological and biochemical assays, statistical analysis for process control, coding for life sciences, biomanufacturing scale-up, bioprocessing
- Optimization of process and flow is in your nature
- You are a meticulous record-keeper and sponge of team knowledge

Qualifications & Preferred Experience
Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or life science with 2 or more years of laboratory experience
- Basic wet lab skills, including mammalian cell culture and the ability to perform plate-based biochemical assays
- Ability to troubleshoot process equipment issues and implement solutions
- Ability to keep accurate, up-to-date, and well-organized records of experimental results and prepare timely reports Knowledge of basic statistical methods and software
- Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
- Demonstrated ability working through ambiguity to deliver results
Preferred
- Familiarity with the production of monoclonal antibodies, the related bioreactors and upstream processing equipment
- Experience/familiarity with cGMP process equipment and operations such as cell culture, bioreactors, filtration, chromatography, autoclaves, incubators, etc.
- Hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas: mammalian cell culture, bioreactor operation or process development, fermentation technology, and bioreactor data analysis, cell culture and bioreactor systems for mammalian protein production
- Knowledge of basic cell biology and biochemistry techniques including: lysate preparation, electrophoresis, Western blotting, enzymatic or immunological assays such as ELISA, histological sectioning, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, wide field and confocal microscopy, flow cytometry and cell sorting
